TRANSLATOR

My work focuses on translating contemporary Italian plays into English. I am particularly drawn to scripts by marginalized authors and to multilingual works - particularly, works that intermingle Italian with other regional languages and dialects.

My anthology of Emma Dante’s plays, mPalermu, Dancers, and Other Plays, was published in January 2020 by Swan Isle Press. I am currently working on a translation of the play 7 Minuti by Stefano Massini for NY-based theatre company Waterwell.

I am also an Italian interpreter and a supertitle and subtitle translator for live performances and moving images. In collaboration with Belgium-based professional supertitler and projections expert Franco Vena, I translated the supertitles for Emma Dante’s Operetta Burlesca, which have been used at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan and during the play’s tour.

As a cultural consultant, I have worked with professional companies as a dramaturg and an Italian dialect coach and with animation and other video artists on subtitles and promotional materials.
